I think this product is like marmite, you either love it or hate it. I however, am one of it’s fan’s!
I’m more of a lip gloss girl, I find that lipstick just doesn’t suit me so when I was in my local Boots store and saw these sparkly numbers I was instantly attracted like a magpie. The first one I bought was number 37 Rose or Chic, which is sort of a sparkly peachy/orangey colour, and due to how happy I’ve been with it I have been back and bought more.
First and foremost, I think the packaging and presentation of this product is very sleek, each gloss is also sealed so you can rest assured that no-one else has been giving it a try. The applicator is not the usual sponge wand or plastic thing you rub on your lips, no, it’s an actual brush ladies so you can apply the product smoothly and I personally think it has a lovely aroma too.
Now for me the consistency of a gloss is of high importance, as a girl with rather lengthy layered hair, there’s nothing worse than stepping out on a windy day, gloss on, hair down to arrive at your car 2 seconds later looking like a striking resemblance to Charlie Chaplin minus the bowler, it’s really not a great look so I tend to steer clear of the really gloopy products. This is sticky and glossy enough to stay on your lips and give the shine but not so sticky that your hair and everything else sticks to it. I find the staying power is quite reasonable and I like the fact that even after the gloss has worn off, your lips still have a lovely sparkle to them.
At around £6 per tube from both Boots and Superdrug I think it’s a bargain for those of you that hate lipstick but want to add colour and sparkle to your lips. I have tried various MAC lip gloss’s and find this comparable to them and much cheaper for those of us on a budget. What’s more, for around £3.50 you can actually get these glosses as a mobile charm, so wherever your mobile goes then so does your gloss, what more could you ask for.
