Getting a sharp straight line with liquid eyeliner, on yourself, is virtually impossible.  I’m a big fan of using black liner very close to lashes to make them look thicker and longer, without the need to use false lashes or an overkill of mascara.

All very well, when you’re lining someone else’s eyes, you can get them to close their eyes, and you can gently pull their brow up to make the skin taught to get a really crisp line very close to the lash roots, but try doing that on yourself and you’ll be pulling the strangest expressions in the mirror and you’ll end up with a wonky line!

And with most liquid liners, you get a flippy floppy brush that you can only do ‘flicky’ lines with or really thick intense lines, you can’t get a really sharp precise line that’s extremely close to the lashes.

This is where Barry M comes in.

The liquid liner is that, it’s a liquid and you dip your wand into it, but its a penstyle wand, like colouring pens of our youth!  It’s not a brush!  You get absolute total control over the brush direction, you can use the very tip for a tiny fine line, or you can press a little harder to get a thicker look.

What makes this different to other ‘penstyle’ liners is that you have to dip the end into the actual liquid, getting a fresh amount each time.  Other pen types have the product behind the end, much like a traditional pen.  Fine if you’re wearing absolutely no makeup, whatsoever on your eyelids, but not matter how much or little  eye makeup you have on before you start lining your eyes, those ‘other’ pens end up with a dirty nib!  All covered in makeup and dusty and just not clean!

I’ve used the Barry M liquid liner pen for many many years, and without fail, I always recommend it when I’m teaching, or when I’m working on a client and they want to know how to achieve the ‘invisible’ line themselves!
