So you love your products and you love your brands.  You love it that you can hit the high street and stock up in Boots, Debenhams, Selfridges and other ‘usual’ retail outlets. But you also love to have high end professional brands.  Whether they’re for you as a professional makeup artist, or just because you love products.  Maybe you’ve had a personal lesson from a pro makeup... 

As a professional working makeup artist with far too many years under my belt, it’s fair to say that I see a lot of seasonal trends come and go, repeat themselves, then reappear a few years later.  It would also be fair to say that I’m a very fussy makeup artist and expect a phenomenal amount from a product, and for it to even make it’s way into my kit is a huge deal, let alone into... 

It’s not rocket science.  We’ve all been out and bought an eyeshadow quad and used 3 colours right down to the bottom, but never touched the 4th.  While all quads are thought out cleverly, no matter who the brand designer is, there’s always one colour that we’re a little wary of. Is it fair to say that all colours are season specific, or are suited only to one hair colour, skin colour or eye colour?  Is it possible that one can use every colour of the rainbow, assuming the right tones have been chosen? A firm believer in this, whilst I’d love to wear grass green tops and scarves, I know that I can only where yucky manky khakis and sludges, but the same isn’t true... 

So, you’ve spent 30 minutes creating a perfect makeup look.  The skin looks gorgeous, the eyes are perfect, the liner is a steady line, and the lips look fantastic.  Fast forward 4 or 5 hours and you pop to the ladies, catching a glance of yourself in the mirror on the way.  Where did the makeup go?  The foundation slipped off and the eyeshadow has smooshed into a couple of creased lines...
