Any idea how much a cab would be from St Pancras to Gt Portland Street? Nearest tube is Regents Park I think.

Rochelle,

I'm not from London but I go in that vicinity quite a bit for work.

Depending on your schedule (and how fit you are feeling/how the weather is) I'd probably walk it as, whenever I've been down there, Euston Road has always been rammed and traffic lights always on red Shocked

It would take about 20 mins walking:

Thanks guys. I won't be up to walking. I'm going for an appointment which I'm quite anxious about and I want to be able to get off the train, jump straight into a cab and get there without worrying.

Rochelle,

I used to live in Central London, Montague Sq just of Hyde Park and then Hampstead.. I used to use the Euston Road a lot cutting through to Camden or go further on to Caledonian road so yes I know the area very well..

Truth be told you could walk it, its not more than 10-15 minutes walk but if you are aprehensive then a cab will be easier and possibly quicker though not necessarily, it depends on the Traffic which can be bad. That said the cabs are very good at winding their way through the volume of traffic and you should be there pretty fast, they do tend to use side roads which may get a bit disorientating but Black Cabs know their job and are very reliable. They don't usually take the piss fare wise but their meters do tick on regardless of wether you are moving or not..

Best of luck hun

Sorry Rochelle,

yes it isnt far but truth be told you will come out of the station and not know where you are..you would need to come out of the front of the station facing the Euston Road and turn right heading back towards Regents Park and Baker Street, I would reccomend that you came out of the front of the station, cros over the road and turn right and walk with the traffic in the direction you wish to go which in this case will be West..

If you are feeling nervous, hop into a cab and just get yourself there..

Once you have finished your appointment, you could wander down to Selfridges for a shopping spree..that walk would take about 20 minutes, no more, then you could shop, have lunch then work your way back to the Station when you are ready..

Thanks Bal. I'm a bit tight for time. My train gets in at 1.03, my appointment is 2pm and then the train back is 4.30. Much as though I would love to go to Selfridges (didn't think of that before you said it - naughty Bal!) I just want to get it over with and go home, so I'll pop into a cab when I get to the station.

Thanks for your advice.

Call Addison Lee http://www.addisonlee.com/
0844 800 6677

I always use them. Much better than a black cab and cheaper, but a great company. Xx They will give you a quote and won't mess you around. Very professional.
